Terms of Service
Plain language, no fine print. The short version of the deal between you and this app.
What this app is
Budget is a personal budgeting tool. It reads the transactions from the bank accounts you connect and turns them into a dashboard: what you spent, where it went, and which charges repeat. It can only read — it cannot move money and it cannot change anything at your bank.
We are not a bank, and we are not a financial advisor. We do not hold your money, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything.
No financial advice
What this app shows is information about your own transactions, not advice. Categories, totals, and recurring-charge detection can be wrong — banks post odd descriptions, and software (ours included) misreads them. The decisions you make with what you see here are yours, and we are not responsible for them.
Your data
Your transactions belong to you. We never sell your data, and no other user can see it. The privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored, what leaves the app, and where — it is short, and it is part of these terms.
You can delete everything at any time: removing a bank stops the sync, and deleting your account wipes your data and revokes our access at Plaid. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Fees
The app itself is free, and we want it to stay that way. CSV import and every feature are free — linking a bank costs us money because our bank-connection provider charges per account, so when sync billing is switched on we will pass that cost on at roughly what it costs us, and show you the breakdown. We don’t make a profit from subscriptions. We never sell your data and we never show ads. If you find the app useful, you can leave a tip (coming soon), or you can choose to see a few relevant, clearly labeled offers from partners (also coming soon — and you will be able to turn them off at any time). Those are the only ways this app earns money. Nothing in this deployment is charged today.
Liability
This app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may misread a transaction, and it may contain mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app — including decisions you make based on what it shows.
By using the app you accept these terms; if you do not agree, please don’t use it. Continuing to use the app after a change to this page means you accept the updated terms.
